The Software Defined Radio Architecture (SDR) will allow the fully integration of the telecommunication services, but before achieve this complete interoperability, several constrains in the RF module implementation must be overcome. The research to solve these difficulties should use professionals, not only from digital signal processing area, but also the microelectronics and antenna experts. This paper show in a short way the problems, the technologies and the possible solutions discussed in some Germany Research Centres, in the development of a SDR solution to be applied in car, embebed systems, or even in a mobile terminal. The analysis is focused in two key applications, RF-MEMs (Radio Frequency Micro Electromechanichal Machine) and Fractal Anatennas, and how these two technologies can be combined to allow the RF multiband operation of the SDR.
